Blind Man's Bluff Author: Sherry Sontag and Christopher Drew Average Rating: Last Reviewed On: April 5, 2000 (by Scott) (Audible version) Scott's Review: on April 5, 2000 This book includes two things that have always fascinated me for some reason, submarines and underwater phone cables. I never really thought about it before, but the two are related in a twisted sense. Blind Man's Bluff explores the various secret missions (recently declassified as part of the freedom of information act) that submarines have played a crucial part in. Included in this are several missions to tap underwater phone cables to see what the enemy is talking about. In the beginning it's told in a standard story format, and near the middle, it inexplicably changes to a quasi history book format. Given that small shortcoming, it's a great look at the submarines past, and what role they're likely to play in the coming years. -- Scott and Michelle |
