Prey Author: Michael Crichton Average Rating: ![]() Last Reviewed On: July 31, 2003 (by Scott) Scott's Review: ![]() Prey is almost formulaic Crichton. Take some technology's disaster scenario, and write an action adventure around it. With that said, it's really good. The technology in question is actually a few combined: nanotechnology, bio-engineering, and swarm programming. The end result is a much feared nano-swarm that's intent on killing everyone for almost no reason. What really makes this enjoyable, though, is Crichton's writing style. I found myself deeply engrossed in the book, and couldn't put it down. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but in the end, found the technological issues a bit too unbelievable to really cause me to think "what if?" Though, I suppose when and if nanotechnology ever becomes a reality, I might change my tune. -- Scott and Michelle |
